1. City of Bones – Cassandra Clare

http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1309277410l/256683.jpgWhen fifteen-year-old
Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she
hardly expects to witness a murder — much less a murder committed by
three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre
weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It’s hard to call the
police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there
is nothing — not even a smear of blood — to show that a boy has died.
Or was he a boy?

This is Clary’s first meeting with the
Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It’s
also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little
like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary
is pulled into Jace’s world with a vengeance, when her mother
disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would
demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And
how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to
know. . . .

Exotic and gritty, exhilarating and utterly
gripping, Cassandra Clare’s ferociously entertaining fantasy takes
readers on a wild ride that they will never want to end.

2. A Million Suns – Beth Revis

http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1330214586l/10345927.jpgGodspeed was once fueled by lies. Now it is ruled by chaos.

It’s
been three months since Amy was unplugged. The life she always knew is
over. Everywhere she looks, she sees the walls of the spaceship Godspeed.

But
there may be hope: Elder has assumed leadership of the ship. He’s
finally free to act on his vision—no more Phydus, no more lies.

But when Elder learns shocking news about the ship, he and Amy race to discover the truth behind life on Godspeed.
They must work together to unlock a mystery that was set in motion
hundreds of years earlier. Their success—or failure—will determine the
fate of the 2,298 passengers aboard Godspeed. But with each
step, the journey becomes more perilous, the ship more chaotic, and the
love between them more impossible to fight.

3. Bloodrose – Andrea Cremer

http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1351196369l/8130839.jpgCalla has always welcomed war.

But
now that the final battle is upon her, there’s more at stake than
fighting. There’s saving Ren, even if it incurs Shay’s wrath. There’s
keeping Ansel safe, even if he’s been branded a traitor. There’s
proving herself as the pack’s alpha, facing unnamable horrors, and
ridding the world of the Keepers’ magic once and for all. And then
there’s deciding what to do when the war ends. If Calla makes it out
alive, that is.

4. Enshadowed – Kelly Creagh
http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1300481485l/9239571.jpg[From the back of the ARC]

desolate realm where the terrifying stories of Edgar Allan Poe come to
life. Isobel Lanley, plagued by strange visions and haunted by the
nightmares of Varen’s creation, is the only one who can save him.
Isobel
knows that her only hope lies within a Baltimore cemetery. There, in
the early morning hours of Edgar Allan Poe’s birthday, a mysterious
stranger known as the “Poe Toaster” will make his annual homage at the
legendary poet’s grave.
Only the Poe Toaster holds the key to the way
between worlds. But even greater dangers lie ahead for Isobel. An
ancient evil, draped in veils of white, is watching, challenging her for
Varen’s affections. When Isobel finally finds Varen, he is no longer
the quiet and brooding boy who once captivated her, but a dark force,
powerful and malevolent.

5. Wings of the Wicked – Courtney Allison Mourton

http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1307466067l/8501291.jpgLife as the Preliator is harder than Ellie ever imagined.
Balancing
real life with the responsibility of being Heaven’s warrior is a
challenge for Ellie. Her relationship with Will has become all business,
though they both long for each other. And now that the secret of who
she really is has come out, so have Hell’s strongest reapers. Grown bold
and more vicious, the demonic threaten her in the light of day and
stalk her in the night.

She’s been warned.
Cadan,
a demonic reaper, comes to her with information about Bastian’s new
plan to destroy Ellie’s soul and use an ancient relic to wake all the
souls of the damned and unleash them upon humanity. As she fights to
stay ahead of Bastian’s schemes , the revelations about those closest to
her awaken a dark power within Ellie that threatens to destroy
everything—including herself.

She’ll be betrayed.
Treachery

 6. Black Heart – Holly Black

http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1326304058l/8884616.jpgIn a world where Magic is illegal.

Cassel
Sharpe has the most deadly ability of all. With one touch, he can
transform any object – including a person – into something else
entirely. And that makes him a wanted man. The Feds are willing to
forgive all his past crimes if he’ll only leave his con artist family
behind and go straight. But why does going straight feel so crooked?

For
one thing, it means being on the opposite side of the law from Lila,
the girl he loves. She’s the daughter of a mob boss and getting ready to
join the family business herself. Though Cassel is pretty sure she can
never love him back, he can’t stop obsessing over her. Which would be
bad enough, even if her father wasn’t keeping Cassel’s mother prisoner
in a posh apartment and threatening not to let her leave until she
returns the priceless diamond she scammed off him years ago. Too bad she
can’t remember where she put it.

The Feds say they need Cassel
to get rid of a powerful man who is spinning dangerously out of control.
But if they want Cassel to use his unique talent to hurt people, what
separates the good guys from the bad ones? Or is everyone just out to
con him?

Time is running out, and all Cassel’s magic and
cleverness might not be enough to save him. With no easy answers and no
one he can trust, love might be the most dangerous gamble of all.

7. Endure – Carrie Jones

http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1330073413l/9915707.jpgIt’s all-out war (and no-holds-barred romance) in the climactic conclusion to Carrie Jones’s bestselling series.

Zara
is at the center of an impending apocalypse. True, she’s successfully
rescued Nick from Valhalla, but it simply isn’t enough. Evil pixies are
ravaging Bedford, and they need much more than one great warrior; they
need an army. Zara isn’t sure what her role is anymore. She’s not just
fighting for her friends; she’s also a pixie queen. And to align her
team of pixies with the humans she loves will be one of her greatest
battles yet. Especially since she can’t even reconcile her growing
feelings for her pixie king . . .

8. Of Poseidon – Anna Banks

http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1327879889l/12425532.jpgGalen is the prince of
the Syrena, sent to land to find a girl he’s heard can communicate with
fish. Emma is on vacation at the beach. When she runs into Galen —
literally, ouch! — both teens sense a connection. But it will
take several encounters, including a deadly one with a shark, for Galen
to be convinced of Emma’s gifts. Now, if he can only convince Emma that
she holds the key to his kingdom . . .

Told from both Emma and
Galen’s points of view, here is a fish-out-of-water story that sparkles
with intrigue, humor, and waves of romance.

9. Tempest – Julie Cross

http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1327878364l/11455096.jpgThe year is 2009.
Nineteen-year-old Jackson Meyer is a normal guy… he’s in college, has a
girlfriend… and he can travel back through time. But it’s not like the
movies – nothing changes in the present after his jumps, there’s no
space-time continuum issues or broken flux capacitors – it’s just
harmless fun.

Jackson and his girlfriend, Holly, and during a struggle with Jackson,
Holly is fatally shot. In his panic, Jackson jumps back two years to
2007, but this is not like his previous time jumps. Now he’s stuck in
2007 and can’t get back to the future.

Desperate to somehow
return to 2009 to save Holly but unable to return to his rightful year,
Jackson settles into 2007 and learns what he can about his abilities.

Jackson in the past, and these “Enemies of Time” will stop at nothing
to recruit this powerful young time-traveler.  Recruit… or kill him.

Piecing
together the clues about his father, the Enemies of Time, and himself,
Jackson must decide how far he’s willing to go to save Holly… and
possibly the entire world.

The Mortal Instruments is one of my favorite series. I recommend that you read its prequel series, The Infernal Devices, if you haven't. A Million Suns has been on my wishlist since forever! I bought the first book in pb format and I like matching books in a series so yeah, I'm still waiting for the paperback release here in the Phils. Of Poseidon is definitely my fave mermaid book. :)Nice list! Thanks for sharing.
